The Associazione Culturale MusicaVenezia, Dr. Roberta Reeder, director, will present a sacred music concert in Venice at the Redentore Church. The concert will be a part of the celebration of the Venetian Feast of Redentore. (The Feast of the Redeember). This concert is part of the Festival Monteverdi di Venezia which presents concerts devoted to Monteverdi over the course of the year. Monteverdi is one of the most famous composers who wrote beautiful works in Venice when he was Maestro di Cappella of St. Mark's Basilica for more than thirty years. The pieces that will be performed in this concert have been chosen specially for this event, which recalls the gratitude of the Venetians for the divine intervention which saved the people from the plague, which began in 1575, with over 50,000 victims.
The concert will be performed by Ensemble Il Sistro Barocco with Roberta Andalò, soprano, Rosita Ippolita, viola da gamba, Andrea Inghisiano, baroque cornet, Marija Jovanovic, harpsichord and Pier Paolo Ciurla, theorbo.
