Associazione Culturale Musica Venezia was founded by Roberta Reeder, Direttore Artistico, to present unusual events with music from the distant past to the modern period. These events are presented in the beautiful palaces, churches, theaters and museums in Venice. There are concerts that celebrate festivals unique to Venice such as Redentore and the Historical Regatta, concerts of sacred music for holidays such as Christmas and Easter, anniversary concerts of great composers like Franz Liszt, Frédéric Chopin, and Gustav Mahler, and the annual national commemoration of the Remembrance of the Holocaust (Giorno della Memoria). There are also unusual events such as "A Futurist Evening in Venice" and "Pulcinella: the 100th anniversary of the Ballets Russes". Musica Venezia collaborates with other associations and institutions such as Alliance Française di Venise, Venice Consulate of the Czech Republic, Circolo Italo-Britannico and Archivio Carlo Montanaro. This association also promotes music by Venetian composers such as Antonio Vivaldi, Baldassarre Galuppi, Benedetto Marcello, Claudio Monteverdi and many others.
